I’ve been working on my sleep schedule since late January.
I have tried polyphasic sleep(naping every 4 h for 20 minutes), monophasic (this was the default schedule for me before January), some own mixtures poly-mono (5-6h during night and 2-3 naps 20 minutes long over the day for 2 months, 7h night sleep + 30 min afternoon sleep).
My initial goal was to achieve more output during day with less sleep. After some time, my goal, my purpose was just to make an experiment.
Nevertheless, the goal changed plenty of time. And so did the motivational factors.
You know, it is pretty difficult to keep pursue a goal you put your eyes on when you change. One need a lot of motivation to keep pushing forward. And is a sacrifice to wake up when others sleep or to sleep in the middle of society when your schedule says so. Sometimes the emotional self overcomes the desire, the motivation: the fear of being judged, the shame of doing something different or the loneliness of making something different is a big challange.
This is the context in which I’ve tried to accomplish my purpose. (Actually, this is life, for those who are not yet aware)
Today I checked my sleep schedule in the past several months. I can say it was a mess. What I can also say is that I’ve learned something. Even if life does not give you exactly what you want, you have to keep going, you have to keep trying. And so, even if my schedule is not consistent, even if there are days when I oversleep I just bave to continue.
Be consistent. Be fearless. Be motivated. And always accept loosing in this game.
