I wake up before the break of the day. The night sky in Serbia is beautiful. I saw it the entire night as I slept only in my sleeping bag yesterday night, when I arrived.
Today I try to hitchhike the whole day. Maybe I get to Greece in no more than one day.
I let the picture talk in this post.

Cold morning. After 2 h since I woke up, the sun came up and warmed me
See that shade? It’s been alone for the entire day. The sun is so hot
Road of holes
In the countryside of Serbia it is harder to hitchike
These things would look nice in a vase
These are my feet. They do one thing: walk me where my eyes want to go
Take care, there is a wild ‘Z’ on the road ahead
Serbian test. What is written on the board?
These fruits seem like blueberries, but I ain’t gonna eat them. Safety first
Free food
But first, help the neighbors picking them up. Helping farmers harvesting apples is a good socializing break
I hold a bag of mushrooms on my lap
On the way to the Monastery. Hopefully, it will be my camping place fo the night
Cold winter, -20, the wind is blowing and your bus has not arrived yet. Minimalist socialist architecture
The Monastery of St. Stefan close to Lipovac
The first time I make use of my tent. The sun is still up and it’s pretty hot inside. No shade to hide
Dinner party in the family. Stefan and his mother in law. Iris cooked fried hake fish
Sundried mushrooms smell amazing
I was a bit discouraged I am still in Serbia and I couldn’t hitchhike towards Thessaloniki today. The serbians seem very friendly, but I couldn’t get a ride. Maybe I am not hitchhiking good enough, even though I read every article about Serbia on Hitchwiki and I tried to apply most of the tips about hitchhiking.
Nevertheless, I had an amazing day. Hard to walk in the hot sun, yes, but I had a different contact with the environment compared with the past days.
Tomorrow I will continue towards Nis, hopefully arriving there by the end of the day. But today I enjoy my time with Stefan and Iris, we talk about history, religion and music.
See you next time. Be safe, use sunscreen protection and have a good day!
